Procurement & Vendor Management • Source, evaluate, and finalize suppliers for raw materials, consumables, and services. • Negotiate rates, commercial terms, and credit conditions to achieve cost savings. • Maintain and update approved vendor lists and ensure supplier performance evaluation. • Raise purchase orders, track procurement cycles, and ensure timely delivery of materials. • Develop alternative vendor options to reduce dependency and supply risk.   B. Logistics & Transportation Management • Plan and monitor inbound and outbound logistics for timely dispatch and delivery. • Coordinate with transporters, freight forwarders, and warehouses for smooth operations. • Ensure compliance with documentation such as e-way bills, invoices, and transport permits. • Track vehicle movement, resolve transit delays, and ensure delivery schedules are met. • Optimize logistics costs while maintaining service quality.    C. Demand Planning & Coordination • Coordinate with production, sales, and operations teams to understand material requirements. • Assist in demand forecasting based on sales trends and business plans. • Ensure alignment of procurement and logistics activities with production schedules.   D. Documentation, Compliance & Reporting • Prepare MIS reports for procurement status, inventory, stock movement, and cost analysis. • Maintain procurement records, contracts, agreements, and compliance documents. • Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory requirements, and audit documentation.

Manage logistics operations: sea/ land freight. Liaise with customs, freight forwarders, shipping lines, carriers, ports, airports. Ensure all export/import documentation is correct (shipping bills, bills of lading, export licences, import licenses, insurance, certificates of origin, etc.). Monitor shipment schedules, track status, handle delays/disruptions, and optimise lead-times. Negotiate freight rates, contracts and service agreements with vendors and carriers; monitor vendor performance. Analyse logistics cost, transit time, carrier performance, and recommend improvements/optimisations. Manage insurance claims, damage/loss investigations, and resolution processes and develop contingency plans for disruptions

Requires solid technical understanding of steel grades, coil conditions, pricing trends, and established relationships across mills, traders, service centers, and end-users. Track steel market trends, regional pricing, demand shifts, and competitor activity. Conduct field visits, yard inspections, and supplier/buyer meetings as required.
