Position Title: Assistant Manager – Supply Chain Management

Reporting To: Supply Chain Manager / Operations Head

A. Procurement & Vendor Management
• Source, evaluate, and finalize suppliers for raw materials, consumables, and services.
• Negotiate rates, commercial terms, and credit conditions to achieve cost savings.
• Maintain and update approved vendor lists and ensure supplier performance evaluation.
• Raise purchase orders, track procurement cycles, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Develop alternative vendor options to reduce dependency and supply risk.
B. Logistics & Transportation Management
• Plan and monitor inbound and outbound logistics for timely dispatch and delivery.
• Coordinate with transporters, freight forwarders, and warehouses for smooth operations.
• Ensure compliance with documentation such as e-way bills, invoices, and transport permits.
• Track vehicle movement, resolve transit delays, and ensure delivery schedules are met.
• Optimize logistics costs while maintaining service quality.
C. Demand Planning & Coordination
• Coordinate with production, sales, and operations teams to understand material requirements.
• Assist in demand forecasting based on sales trends and business plans.
• Ensure alignment of procurement and logistics activities with production schedules.
D. Documentation, Compliance & Reporting
• Prepare MIS reports for procurement status, inventory, stock movement, and cost analysis.
• Maintain procurement records, contracts, agreements, and compliance documents.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, statutory requirements, and audit documentation.
Requirements:
The Assistant Manager – Supply Chain Management is responsible for overseeing end-to-end supply chain activities including procurement, logistics, inventory control, vendor management, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. The role ensures timely material availability, optimum stock levels, cost-effective procurement, and streamlined logistics operations to support the company’s business objectives.
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in procurement, logistics, inventory, or supply chain operations.
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, mining, chemical, or materials sector is an added advantage.
Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, vendor negotiation, and logistics management.
• Understanding of taxation, e-way bills, transport regulations, and warehouse practices.
Soft Skills
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work with cross-functional teams.
• Leadership qualities with team-handling capability.
