What does a Risk Management Officer do?
A Risk Management Officer identifies, analyzes, and mitigates financial, operational, and compliance risks in business transactions. They handle credit risk assessment, KYC checks, sanctions screening, and trade finance compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- To carry out credit risk analysis and validate commercial margins for our business transactions
- To carry out KYC verification and sanctions screening
- To ensure compliance with Letter of Credit (LC) terms and conditions, including LC limits and payment history
- To validate contracts, trade parties, and financial risk exposure
- To ensure compliance with internal SOPs and risk management frameworks
- To assess supplier risk profiles and trade documentation
- To ensure compliance with INCO Terms 2020 and other international trade standards
- To ensure compliance with waste regulations, including Basel codes and permits
- To utilize AI technology and data analytics for risk assessment and reporting
Requirements:
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or Risk Management
· 3–7 years of experience in risk management, compliance, trade finance, or operations
· Experience in commodity trading, recycling industry, or supply chain risk management is a strong advantage
Required Skills & Competencies
Knowledge of credit risk management and financial analysis
Practical experience in KYC compliance and AML/Sanctions screening
Knowledge of trade finance operations and LC documentation
Knowledge of INCO Terms 2020 and international trade laws
Familiarity with the codes of the Basel Convention and environmental compliance
Knowledge of data analysis tools and AI-based risk assessment systems
Excellent analytical thinking, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills
